Despite hoovering every day, Lyndsey said she could not believe how much dog hair her new vacuum collected

With a shedding dog to contend with, Lyndsey Garvey thought she was well on top of her cleaning with daily hoovering sessions.

But, after switching from a cordless vacuum to a corded one, she says she was 'disgusted' by how much hair and dirt the previous one had left behind.

After hoovering just one room with her new Shark cleaner, the container was almost full.

So shocked was she that she decided to share a photo of it on a Facebook group where people share cleaning tips.

Accompanying her photo of the Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner [NZ801UK] Powered Lift-Away with Anti-Hair Wrap Technology, with her sullen looking Labrador by its side, Lyndsey, from Oldham, said: "I’ve two different cordless shark vacuums in the past 4 years. Made the switch to a corded one today. This is after hoovering just one room, which was previously hoovered every single day! Disgusted, I’ll never go back to cordless!"

After being inundated with requests for further details of the product, she added a link to it on the Amazon website, where it's currently reduced from £329.99 to £239.

Clearly she wasn't the only one impressed with the performance of the new machine as, in just a few days, her post has had a massive response, with 68,000 interactions and a thousand comments - many of them saying they have the same vacuum and 'wouldn't swap'.

"We have this one and it's amazing if you have a dog," said one.

"I’ve got the same exact hoover and same gorgeous lab," said another. "Yes the best hoover I’ve had so far, our labs are moulting so much atm."

Others said you rarely get the same result from a cordless, but they can be useful for a quick clean.

"Same! Cordless aren’t as powerful," said one. "I've both, but vax," said another. "The cordless for running around after the toddlers daily and the corded for a deeper clean once a week. It makes sense that a battery powered one isn't as powerful?! I couldn't live without a cordless again as they are so convenient to whip around in a hurry."
