It is a good thing to portray a corporate image but not at the cost of your customer focus.

It ‘s often said that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you really care.

Whatever business we are in, clients are our livelihood: Not only do they provide us with their own business, but if they feel they receive excellent customer service and/or quality products, they will willingly refer us to others.

There are small ways we can let them know that we really care for them.

Most of us are not fortunate enough to shower our clients with big-tickets perks like a day at the races or a box at a football match. While very few clients would not be really happy with those sort of gifts usually they simply want to be acknowledged as being of value to you.

Here are some simple and budget-friendly ways to let your clients know that you appreciate their loyalty and that you care:

After you visit with your client for the first time, as soon as they leave, write out a card that lets them know you are grateful for the time they spent with you and that you appreciate their business. Your client (or prospect) should receive this personalized thank you note from you within the first week or two, to keep you fresh in their minds.

Something that people don’t consider as a critical interaction point is the telephone. One  tiny thing that demonstrates that you are customer focused is how much it costs them to make a call to you. I don’t know about you but when I see an 0845/0844 or 0907 number I picture a corporate. It is a good thing to portray a corporate image but not at the cost of your customer focus.
